I have accepted on offer to work as an advisor at a local RIA and am responsible for passing the series 65.  After reading all of the reviews that I can find, I ma inclined to move forward using Testing Consultants as my primary study aid.  I undersand that Testing Consultants has recently agreed to an undisclosed settlement with FINRA.  I am wondering if the settlement has changed the effectiveness of TC's program.  I would be grateful to hear from anyone who has taken the 65 recently and used TC.  Where the study materials sufficient to prepare for the exam?  Any thoughts or feedback are greatly appreciated.  I look forward to giving back to this site when I have something to offer.

I JUST used TC for the 63 and easily passed (90’s) and will be using them again for the 65. This after failing the 66 with STC three times. STC and Kaplan mire you down and try to “CTA” and they wind up confusing the student. TC is down and dirty and give you the essentials and the latest /targeted exams.

Thank you very much for your help and feedback. It is reassuring to know that I am studying the right stuff. Good luck on the 65.

Has anyone out there passed Finra series 10 exam recently? and if so, which online course did you use?? i just took mine yesterday with Training consultants, and failed with 66… i was scoring in 90’s on their final exams, so figured i was ready for the real one, but the actual exam was like up to a point where it was “ridiculous”~ and I could tell TC’s finals were too easy and there was not many twisted or difficult questions. I still remember some questions, and tried to find the answers but couldn’t find it in the text. Anyone know a site where it has practice exams that matches the difficulty of the actual exam??

Just took the Series 66, got a 71%, failed and fired. Only one opportunity to retake on one of the big two, 7 and 66. Used Firesolutions as required, did not work for me on the 7 or 66. Thought I was prepared by Fire Solutions standards scoring 93%, took a 2-day live class with Kaplan (which made me anxious). Kaplan was great for Series 7, but not sure what to study for 66. I’m going Lone Ranger since do not have a job. Is it better to take 63 and 65.

Got2pass, I had a similar experience with TC. Scored 76,79,76,75 & 72 on the standards. The went through the damage control and took Standard final 1, 2 and 5 again scoring 88,90 &91. Then took a random final and scored 81. I took he series 66 today and scored a 71. The information on the test was significantly more detailed and I could not find much of the material in the TC study guide when I got home.

I am considering the 63 and 65 as a means to try and pass the required exams more quickly. I am interested in thoughts on which to take first or how to go about preparing for the 66 again with material that just doesn’t seem difficult enough.

I think you need to change your mindset to more is better than less and more difficult is better than easier I do not see the benefit of taking the same full length exams again.

I just finished working with a student who used Fire Solutions for the first attempt on the 65 and failed with a 65. He did not like the materials. I suggested materials from a different provider. The student did not have a chance to finish the whole program and only took three finals, averaging about 70%. He passed the exam with a 77.
