Hello Everyone…

As of Friday I have left the wirehouse, post-AGE, world and jumped with both feet over on the Indy side!  I appreciate all of the information you folks have given over the last several months.  I did a lot of homework and said a lot of prayers before my move.   I am really psyched about the move and am already rolling along, although it is taking some time getting used to the new technology and TONS of paperwork.   More to come.................. Was there any specific thing that finally pushed you to do this or was it just everything involved in the merger? Any bad blood when you left or was everyone thinking the same thing?

Oh yeah, welcome to the dark side!

Thanks Dober and Ice!!!  Nothing that really pushed me over because it had been coming for awhile.  Although it did strike me as kind of a “yea right” kinda moment at one of the WS Roadshows when one of the WS managers said that when an AGE rep leaves he only takes 68% of his assets with him.  From what I have been told that number is really low espeically for old AGE folks and it was probably meant as somewhat of a warning that you shouldnt leave.

No bad blood that I know of, although its early  lol  !!!

Hi Pin. So you finally took the leap. Congrats! What BD did you end up going with?

LPL here.  I was really impressed with just about everything that was presented to me and the technology is so much more efficient and easier than WS/AGE.

But I have new found respect for the phrase "not enough hours in the day"    Chugging away.... Pin

I'm w/ LPL as well. You'll like some of the differences from AGE. Get through the transfers and feel free to check in w/ me and I'll share what I've learned so far. I saw you were asking about technology. If you still need opinions on that let me know.

Congrats, PIN.  You’ll find eventually that LPL is not a perfect B/D either, but compared to what I had, it’s great.  Welcome to the jungle…

Thanks IndyOne!! I believe you and I have talked on the phone before, I was asking you questions about the indy world…I think we talked back in Oct…so you played a hand in my decision!! ha ha ha

LPL has been pretty good so far....they dropped the ball on one of my registrations, but they have corrected the problem.    I joined an office with several establised brokers and they have been great helping me with the process.  The new account setup and client information in BranchNet is sooooo much easier than I ever imagined.  My assistant helps with a lot of it, but it so simple I often find it quicker to sometimes do it myself with the client in my office.    It does seem like the ACATS are take a little longer.  Coming from a wirehouse the assitants could put the ACATS in on their system and get the process started that day, as opposed to overnighting it to LPL.   All in all, like you IndyOne, I am very very pleased with the decision and process. Good luck Pin, OSJ with LPL myself.  If your assistants don’t already do it, I would recommend a process of follow up and verification for every single thing you send to the back office.  My process goes something like this: Faxed, Imaged, Action Verified, Approve for Shredding.  Even this does not ensure everything goes perfectly, hard to prevent back office from doing somethings twice (ie check requests submitted twice).  Be sure to use the New Rep red stickers for all ACAT’s right now, drop them fast!
