Being a former Jones-er, I will admit to adhering to a few of their procedures despite going indy in February.  However, there is one that I've gotten away from that I'd really like to re-implement.

I've always liked following-up on an initial contact with a short letter or note.    I see this as a great opportunity to outline in a physical, written format just what I can offer them.   Does anyone have compliance-approved text that they use in this manner?  Care to share?

Try your custodian.  They have a standard package that is sent to all clients.  I am sure there is a welcome letter.  Remember even though the custodian's compliance people have approved the letter, you should have someone look at it that understands your business.

Good Luck
