Has anyone had any luck with using White Papers to garner up interest, position expertise, etc.?

How hard was it to get it approved by your compliance department?

Did it have to be submitted to FINRA?

Do you think it garnered up interest and positioned your expertise regarding the subject matter?

Thanks for all your help guys.

A lot of the bigger firms do it very well (i.e. Fisher Investments).  I would imagine it is very hard if done through a B/D, but easier if you are an RIA (from a compliance perspective).  But if done properly, I have heard it can be very effective.

As long as you scrub the numbers through a "do not call" list you're Golden.  I can check fifty numbers at a time with our list checker so it's quick and with the right approach people are very receptive.  Go for it.  Pick an area you like and start calling.
