Never underestimate what you can get accomplished in a focused 45min call block. My pipeline was looking a bit lean and I was starting to question how much new business I'd bring in the rest of the year so I've committed to making prospecting calls to existing prospects twice a day.  So far today I've made 23 calls and set three appointments.  Don't ask me what script I'm using, it's not about that.  It's just about calling people and asking them to meet with you.  Plain and simple.

I am fully convinced if all you actually put in is two solid hours of calls per day you will never fail at this job.

Nothing fancy.  Nothing sexy.  Picking up the 500lb phone for 45mins and dialing.  Either ask for an order or an appointment.  Both work.  Both should be used.  10 times per week.  One to two Saturdays per month to make six figures.

Damn that felt good.

Within 45 minutes of reading this thread I opened an account and sold 20 bonds over the phone.

Call number 182.

Going back to the phone. Can still get in 2 hrs worth of calling for the day.

That actually sounds about right.

Well then, being a stockbroker is easier than being a golfer.

I put nearly 4 hours a day into golf, and I'm still not scratch....

Golf is much tougher!  Being an FA is easy if you do the work.

This is why I love you guys. ALWAYS good stuff, and humor drier than a gin & tonic.

*bows* OOOooohhhhhmmmm. OOOooooohhmmmm.

Get .. I have no idea if you are full of crap or being serious.  Either way, hope it happened.  We make our own luck.

I think I hijacked this thread. Sorry was living in the moment yesterday. I have no friends nor family and my dog couldnt care less about my newly opened accounts. You guys are all I've got. I love guys. Oh god I think I'm tearing up.

But seriously, going back to the OP, 45 minutes. Nothing but cold calling. Hell make it 4 hours each day. You'll open accounts. No one's proactively walking in the door with a million dollar check in their hand for you to invest. Make your own luck.

Put in two 45's back to back this PM to tear around the course and play 16 holes. No accounts opened.
