Why doesn't Jack Bauer ever get a break?

I mean seriously, he lost a wife, an annoying daughter, faked his own death and lost so many friends. This show is as depressing as First Investors. and to top it all off, due to it's shakespearian themes, you know Jack will end up dead once this show ends...

Actually, they have the first “24” based big screen movie planned, so I doubt they’ll kill him off and not have Jack available for a series of theatrical releases.
i read that. in addition, it supposedly takes place between season 6 and season 7. so long as this series makes money, jack will live. come on market, pick up so my consumer confidence can start rising :’(
