For all of you who have trouble spelling this tool bar has a spellchecker that will correct the more egregious errors and maybe help you to learn the correct spelling for future usage.  I consistently type some words wrong even though I know the correct spelling (beneficiary) and transpose letters (teh instead of the, aslo instead of also).

Of course, it won't help you if you don't know the difference between where, wear, ware...there, their, they're......your, you're...site, sight....effect, affect......the list is endless.  It won't fix a word that is spelled correctly but happens to be the wrong word, or help you in knowing how to punctuate, but at least it is a start.

Just a suggestion.  Not a criticism.

You're too polite.  It is a critcism from where I sit.

This forum is crawling, absolutely crawling, with functionally illiterate types.

It saddens me to think that the industry to which I devoted a lifetime now hires people like those who drop their brain farts on this forum.

I know, I know, I'm not winning friends and influencing people by saying that, but the truth is an absolute defense.

By the way, in addition to sight and site there is cite.

I have always enjoyed that quote.

I tend to agree with you.  Poor spelling like that is indicative of poor education, laziness, and lack of attention to detail.  None of these are attributes which tend to lead to success in our industry.

Joe, if you agree with me you're likely to be shunned by the others.  Please be careful.

I'll just have to take that risk.  There are plenty of times I disagree with you, and you even really tick me off sometimes.  Not this time, although you could perhaps express yourself in a more constructive fashion.

Never claimed to be so.  It's simply that I don't need positive reinforcement from my peers to validate my self image.

I for one don't agree with the lack of education.  More than likely the laziness and lack of attention to detail is dead on.

My spelling is atrocious, but that is why I keep a dictionary in my upper right hand desk drawer.  (and it is used often)  Just to give you an idea of how bad it is,... I sent my with an email with the word "spell-check" in it, and the "spell-check" had to correct me on my spelling of "spell-check".

Go ahead Put/Easy/NASD, I know you'll have a field day with this one.

I occasionally make grammatical errors on forums; happens to all of us at some time.

the one that makes me shake my head the most is  LOOSE and LOSE.

I can't believe how many times I've seen this.

I always remembered an elementary school teacher who told us that LOOSE had more room in it because there were two 'O's so it was looser and LOSER had one 'O" because it lost one and tightened up...or something like that.   Stupid....but it works for me.

Can you help me with "I am dumb" or "I be dumb?"

How about "I live on Elm Street" or "I stays on Elm Street?"

Damn.......

How much time has been wasted discussing the subtleties of spelling/grammar/punctuation?  Yes, there are definitely those on this board who don't invest as much energy into these things as I might choose to, but who really cares?  They don't.......and unless they ask my my opinion of them (or their spelling/grammar/punctuation) I'm not going to waste my time inflating my already swollen  ego, especially if they don't give a sh*t (oops sorry for the misspelling, * is not a letter!).  One thing I'm certain about NASTY Newbie is that he has a Masters degree in wasting his own and others time.  Sounds just like the kind of behavior that very successful individuals engage in......right????

Trying to force a horse to drink the water you're offering is an excercise in madness.  Kicking that horse to motivate him to drink is an excercise in stupidity.  Assuming that the horse is actually thirsty is dense.  None of those outcomes are desireable in my opinion.  What a shame NASTY Newbie insists on making a horses ass out of himself.

You should be rejoicing that the world is filled with people who are inferior to your intellect.....and encourage them to stay inferior, 'cause they just might realize what an asshole you really are.......Oops too late......time to change names again .

Well I have concluded that you can't be that bright if you haven't gotten the clue after having at least two other alter egos kicked off of this board.  For someone who is SOOOOOOO adamant about how bad spelling makes one appear, how the hell do you think it looks to have multiple 'alter egos' banned and you just keep coming back contributing 50% dogsh*t, 50% bullsh*t (or substitute "horsesh*t" to stay consistent with the above theme).  Frankly, you look like a desperate and bored old man to me.  Some people might not mind the stench but I'm getting nauseated by your funk.
