Buh-Bye.

I don't know how it's done (although it has something to do with the ISP address) but there is plenty of evidence that it is being done and Registered Rep ought to shut the forums down until they can find the leak and plug it. Or they should be sued.

Pretty serious charge - that IP addresses are not confidential (versus some cases where they are just blocked).

If you have specific evidence and not merely anecdotal evidence of such behaviour, you should present it for the benefit of all, since this is purported to be a confidential forum.

As for Hull and others being reinstated, that is consistent with free speech, and, being human,  an administrator could be forgiven for muddling through the formation or implementation of a meaning moderation policy for the forum.

Interesting that we DON'T know who the mods are, on the other professionally run forums I'm on, weall know who the mods are, they are proactive with PM to tell us when we step over the line, etc.............

No way I would be a mod on here.........

Interesting that we DON'T know who the mods are, on the other professionally run forums I'm on, weall know who the mods are,

Like Whomit, I have had thoughts. Like ... maybe one of the posters here is the moderator. And, I have witnessed a breach of security, although it is anecdotal... who is the moderator, and how secure is IP address information.

And, we have writers from RR posing questions here, using the forum to garner ideas and content for the magazine.

While moderation is " cultural ", maintaining the security of IP addresses is another matter.

It would be reasonable to expect to hear from the RR forum administrator a statement regarding the security of the identity of IP addresses of every poster here, if we are to share meaningful content. Needless to say, we are all in a sensitive postion with regard to our licensing and practices.

The question has been raised, I don't think anyone here would accuse Whomit of being stupid.

(Dumb, maybe, but not lacking in brains.)

STFU sent me two PMs. He knew I was with Quest in Colorado.

So yes, your IP addresses are available.

William, this is a message board for financial professionals.  Seeing as you are not a financial professional, please refrain from posting further.  Thank you.

Bill, go back to the Fidelity DIY forum and get your "better" returns.  Let us 'hacks' talk amongst ourselves.  Go see if you can purchase Russell Funds sans advisor.

Oh but why ever would he want to invest with the same people, Russell, who manages $30 BILLION of Bill and Melinda Gates' money?  I mean that would just be absurd...............................
