I’ve decided to take some time off from this board to pause and reflect upon how I treat people. I’ll let you know the results.

Wonderful, jaw dropping Idea.  Don't let the html code hit you on your way out!  Reengineering would be an excellent suggestion!  Posters like your posts but not your sarcastic insults ...except joedabrkr thinks you are hilarious and entertaining.  And might I suggest when you return, a brand new screen name with a brand new, more positive start and you will find that posters will be most welcoming for the informative, insightful posts that you do.  However, you seem to enjoy posting because you seem to enjoy being sarcastic:  the question is can you enjoy the site without this bad behavior -- you seem to entertain yourself by your own bad behavior!   (Not welcoming you on this other Advisor Mechanic site should be a good indication that it is time for a change.)

It would also be good for some of your apprentices (joedabroker being your #1 fan) to do some reflecting as well.

You are always forgiven if you change your ways and sin no more.

Best of luck on your pause and reflection!  Hope you realize your behavior was wrong but again posters like the info you bring to the party (just, without the venom).

I think an overwhelming majority of people on here would much rather see echo/parachute/goforbroke/freedomadvocate leave than BH. Wouldnt you agree?

Jun 6, 2007 9:00 pm

I've said this before but I think putting BH, Freedomadvocate and a badger in a potato sack together would be the best way to work out their problems.  However, I would be willing to accept Bobby back on the sight if he really is serious about his 12 step process.  Good luck to you Bobby.  Remember, not everyone will accept your apologies at first, but with the right accountability partner, you can make it!  The hardest part will probably be confessing your wrongdoing to all of your clients that didn't actually need an annuity on their 32nd birthday.

PS. Be careful on the 3rd floor of the "institution", they don't always remember to lock the chains on those patients.

Trisyn, please. Taking a poll for Bobby vs. parachute is a zero sum game: one winner and one loser. Are you innocently proposing more suffering?

Look, everyone, think about how much time is invested here by all. Why? Needs are being filled. Why not define the needs/standards and make your investment more valuable?

To Bobby's comment: I was thinking, either he is serious, or he'll come back like one of those electronic puzzle tricks that you stare at and it explodes into an evil image. It that happens, he is a confirmed sociopath (no conscience).

Extend the logic: if Bobby has a conscience, and he changes, his contribution here will the greatest of all. He will own our respectful compassion.

The parachute's needs will be fulfilled. Joe could police at a higher standard. This stuff is real, people.

Bobby and parachute, especially, will need to find a higher purpose and clarity for their creativity.

But no one will be perfect, it's still a rough business, even teasing with respect would be an accomplishment.

Just look at everyone's total commitment to evolution of communication process. Fascinating, real (important) stuff.

I just had a flashback to when I first found this board and Player was posting with 20 emoticons per post.  Echo isn’t quite there yet, but you can see it from here.

Jun 6, 2007 10:28 pm

I think Echo is kind of sweet with its emoticon lexicon. Succinct like Bobby would be good.

If Bobby comes back as a sociopath or dies, that will be sad. Will Bobby kill JR ( junior acting robert).

Either way, Joe wins. ' Cause Joe has to win, that's okay.  Joe and the mean bunny rabbit.

I guess Allreit is the smartest person here, but how many different ways can you say the same geeky thing.

That's why they call it a people business.

Couldn't agree more, emoticons are lame.

Any guesses on Bobby’s new name next week?  I am going with Mario Lemuiex(no clue how to spell that name).  Either way he’ll be back people like him live on the attention and the way it makes them feel to put people down.

After much thought and careful deliberation, I have concluded that it wouldn't be prudent to change how I treat people, at this juncture. My reflection has brought to light an undeniable truth about me - I can't stand stupid people and I enjoy treating them poorly. Stupid questions, stupid answers, stupid comments...they are all subject to my scrutiny and pointed feedback.

I want to thank you all for your support during my personal upheaval. It has really been a significant period of growth for me and I couldn't have gone through it without your wind beneath my wings.

I love you all.

Ha!  Welcome back!

Bobby I would love to know your IQ, where you went to school, what degree you got, and what your current production is.  Usually the only people who insult others intellect are the super geniuses, and the very low IQ ones who are jealous.  I am really leaning towards low IQ on you.  Let me ask you, as a stupid person are you treated poorly by others???

[/quote] This is an excerpt of an article I recently read:

Hockey legend Bobby Hull, Brett’s dad, once known as the “Golden Jet” for his blond hair during his days with the Chicago Black Hawks, and later, the WHA’s Winnipeg Jets, took to wearing a toupee after his hair began to thin and fall out. One night, in a WHA game against the Birmingham Bulls, Hull’s hairpiece came flying off during a fight. The red-faced left winger fled to the dressing room, returning wearing a helmet.

Now I don't know Bobby Hull or any of the Hull family for that matter.  But from anyone who knows Bobby Hull most of what I've heard said about him is quite negative and not complimentary.

For full disclosure, I am bald or perhaps balding.

One of the worst days of my life is when he signed with Winnepeg. The Hawks were never the same. The late 60's and early 70's were some of the best years of the NHL.
