Sidwell Brings 20 Years of Experience in Investment and Wealth Management Services

TAMPA and NEW YORK, October 7, 2011—BNY Mellon has appointed C. Ray Sidwell, to the position of family wealth advisor for investment management serving the Florida region for the company’s wealth management business. Reporting to the Head of Family Wealth and International Businesses Donald Heberle, Sidwell is based in Tampa.

“As our largest clients have increasingly complex and global financial, banking and investment needs, Ray joins a team of highly experienced investment experts who can bring particular expertise in investment management strategies to enhance all that BNY Mellon already offers to ultra-high net worth families, foundations and endowments,” Heberle said. “With Ray on board, we look forward to deepening our existing client relationships and building new relationships.”

Sidwell, a 20-year veteran in the legal and investment management industry, previously served as the senior family investment officer for GenSpring Family Offices where he was an investment advisor serving ultra-high net worth families throughout North America and was an advisor to a Forbes 400 Family.

Sidwell earned his Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designation from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, his Juris Doctor from the Stetson University College of Law and his bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Delaware.

“This significant addition is yet another example of BNY Mellon Wealth Management’s growth during volatile times,” said Craig Sutherland, President of the Southeast Region for BNY Mellon Wealth Management. “In less than three years since opening the Tampa office, we’ve grown our assets under management in the Tampa and Sarasota region from zero to nearly 10% of BNY Mellon Wealth Management assets in all of Florida. With Ray as our 12th hire in Tampa alone, and having grown our office space in Tampa and Miami just this year, BNY Mellon has significantly strengthened its presence in Florida.” BNY Mellon Wealth Management has five other Florida offices including Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Naples and Palm Beach.
