Harvard's Suffering Financial Crisis


Interesting story in Vanity Fair about how Harvard University is suffering its worst financial crisis in its 373-year history. "Could the same lethal mix of uncurbed expansion, colossal debt, arrogance, and mismanagement that ravaged Wall Street bring down America’s most famous university?" the glossy asks. As is typical of college students, a group called the "Student Labor Action Movement were making their way through the auditorium [for a recent student town-hall gathering], handing out flyers. 'Rethink. Resist,' urged the bold black letters. It was a call to action. 'no layoffs!'” writes Contributing Editor Nina Munk. Ridiculous. (Guess the geniuses there picked the wrong time to start building a $1.2 billion science building.
