Financial Advisors Suffer High Rates of Depression

drugsOur own columnist Dr. Alden Cass, a psychologist and performance coach who specializes in helping financial advisors, has said in our pages many times: Fincial advisors are more prone to stress-related problems (depression, alcohol and drug abuse) than many other professionals. Health.com puts FAs and CPAs in the top ten.

Health.com says: "Stress. Stress. Stress. Most people don’t like dealing with their own retirement savings. So can you imagine handling thousands or millions of dollars for other people?"

Thanks to our former long-time staff writer Halah Touryalai who now labors at Forbes for bringing this to my attention.

Here is a Q&A with Dr. Cass.
